Scuppers are seen on the fountain bowl where the water flows through equally spaced channels. Scuppers are fount on ship decks or roof tops to allow the water to drain off. On a water fountain, scuppers present a uniform visual of water flowing over the bowl into the lower structure. Scuppers will be louder with more of a pouring sound than a flat rim where water sheets over the bowl.
