Originally designed for hard-to-grow areas, these problem solvers are now accenting live landscapes with a unique blend of engineering, beauty, and durability. Polyblend® heavily fortifies the shrubbery to resist fading unlike inexpensive and unstabilized plastic or polyester plants. Mix with live plants for a natural appearance. Natural wood trunks help to give the natural look.
PolyBlend® is a polyurethane elastomeric alloy resin. Outstanding characteristics of PolyBlend® are low flexural modulus, high tensile strength and moderate elongation. The result is a polymer having a very soft texture, making it suitable as a substitute for natural rubber latex in many applications.
These outdoor artificial plants are designed for accenting live outdoor plant scapes. Polyblend® is durable and resistant to fading (unlike cheap plastic or polyester plants). Vinyl and the imported polyethylene are the poorest materials to use in artificial foliage. Polyblend® is a blend of industrial grade polymers designed to withstand UV light degradation. Average polyethylene breaks down in 200-500 hours of UV exposure. Polyblend has gone over 4,160 hours without noticeable change. All polymers will undergo some color change with time. The Polyblend® fading will be very slow and gradual.
The longevity of your Polyblend® artificial plant depends on your climate and amount of UV exposure. In the deep South and Southwest USA where the climate is sunny and hot, these artificial outdoor plants have remained intact for 3-5 years. In the Northern climates, they can last 7 years or longer. There are many that look nice after even 10 years in the Northern climates. Used as fake indoor plants, they last much longer.
These outdoor artificial trees, shrubs, and other plants don't require the maintenance of real trees and plants. Perfect for drought-stricken areas, arid climates, and other climates not suitable for vegetation.
