Pool Curbing for Professional Installers and Contractors.

Pools may be virtually any shape you wish with this curbing. Design beautifully shaped pools using the easy-to-install curbing components. The more curves and turns, the more expensive your pool will be.

The pool contains the water and is the most crucial element of a fountain. Beauty can emanate with very little water with advanced planning.

Consider wind and splash in your size design to contain the water. A rule of thumb is that the inner diameter must be at least double the height of the jet of water. Wind blows the water around, to one side or the other and out of the pool. Splash occurs when a drop of water lands back in the pool. It then may rebound from the surface in any direction and this can be blown by wind. The splash can be 2 or 3 feet high depending on the volume and the distance the water falls.

When designing these pools great consideration should be given to the depth of the pool. Certainly it is less expensive to build a shallow pool ("reflecting pool") than a deep pool. Pools as shallow as 6" would be acceptable. However, it may be necessary to have a sump in the center or a remote pump and even a depth valve to automatically fill the pool when water gets too low. For the most part, water fountains are made with depths of water ranging from 8" to 18".

Some pools are designed purposely to be very shallow, that is with almost no water laying in the bottom. In this case, the bottom of the pool becomes merely a drainage area to drain towards the sump. This would be ideal for a children's interactive splash fountain.

A popular design is with curbing No. 275 that's 10" deep. This makes it possible to operate using a submersible pump without a sump.

These pool designs require extreme patience and knowledge to install. The ground must be level and firmly packed to avoid settling with time. Please contact your local contractor for installation help. Ensure that your new pool project meets your local construction codes.

Shown on the pages below is a large collection of pool shapes. They are made from pool curbing pieces No. 275 and others (see below). The shapes shown are approximate. To design your pool, simply select the curbing, shape, and sizes (outer dia, height) that you desire.

How To Order.

  • Browse the design pool outer shapes below.
  • When you find a design, let us know the following:
    1. Design Shape Number.
    2. Maximum length and width - outer dimensions.
    3. Preferred depth.
    4. Do you require an upper lip? This will minimize splash over for turbulent fountain displays.
    5. If your shape has a pedestal, will you require a hole to feed fountain tubing?
    6. Will you need other holes for tubing or power cords?
    7. We'll need the destination city and zip code to determine freight rates for you.

When we get your specifications, we'll gladly provide a Gardecor® Special Quote for you.

It's that easy!
